Just the Chop
We all know that Austin’s East Side dining is all the rage and there’s always something going on from what’s changing at Qui to Jacoby’s and the delicious, but peculiar, Sawyer. However, the long-running favorite is Justine’s; French flair, curiously cool staff, and crafted cocktails that make you smile. One of my favorites, other than the steak frites, is the butter-soaked pork chop. Super, super delicious! If you’re wanting a seat indoors, arrive early – super early. Cozy tables, comfortable atmosphere, a little loud.

Balls In The Air
The 2016 NAGAAA Softball World Series descends upon Austin starting this weekend. Details here.
The event needs volunteers, so please reach out to Steven McCormick or sign up here.
Rumor has it the number of attendees and fans is in the thousands, so it should be a fun week in ATX.

Evolution is Everything
I’m retiring “The Austin Concierge” after three years of blogging, Facebook posting, Instagramming, Tweeting, etc….
It was an endeavor to test the business viability of a concierge service that just didn’t get the time it needed. I had some curiosities along the way, but it is time to evolve the site. Quite frankly, most followers were friends who just wanted to know what I was up to or what I found interesting. So out of the chrysalis pops scottballew.me, the evolution of self, and my social media presence. It’s not “Bye Felicia,” but it is certainly closing a chapter. I really enjoy connecting people and that’s something that greatly expanded because of the site. I really did actualize my strengths and I take pride in that accomplishment. So keep an eye out for what I do with scottballew.me, it will be aligned much more with my personal life. The content on this site will migrate (I hope) and I’ve already replaced the social media links as I’ve killed the others. All that content… Oy vey.
I appreciate your time, friendship, and interest.

The G Spots
…. Goliad and Gonzalez
A number of my posts involve traveling around Central Texas and seeing the sites outside of Austin. I recently stopped through the towns of Goliad and Gonzales after a trip to South Padre. Goliad was full of history and had an interesting town-square and courthouse, while Gonzalez had some spectacular architecture and older homes.
Both towns are easily less than two hours away heading southeast of the ATX, the SH183 route was more scenic than taking the interstates and cutting over.
While in Goliad, check out the state park and the historic sites south of town.

Design you own junk trunk!
Got an extra $600 laying around? If so, you can show off your summer body in custom designed swimwear. If only my last name were Rockefeller. 🙁
