Yesterday, I was asked where I would take someone who has never been to Austin for a quick tour of the city. I offered the usual suspects: Lady Bird Lake, South Congress, Downtown, Mount Bonnell, drive Loop 360 and stop at scenic overlook, etc… Given more time, I’d say drive to Devil’s Backbone, Wimberly, Gruene. I know a number of blogs offer suggestions, but some are quite quirky. I’m curious what you’d do on an afternoon with a friend in town who is unfamiliar with the city.
